The 9 tricks of a beauty editor to have the prettiest skin

With hair permission -sleep with good hair days-, having pretty skin is another of my great beauty obsessions. "If the hair is fine, everything is fine," says a friend of mine. I subscribe to your words and I allow myself to replicate them in the skin area. "If the skin is fine, everything is fine". Understand all this as a hyperbole that sticks exclusively to beauty issues. But when we talk about beauty, just as there are people who are obsessed with everything that has to do with abdominal fat, cellulite or dark circles, in my case the efforts of my beauty routines are focused on my hair and on having good face (that's why they scold me every time I go to get a body treatment and detect my lack of care with the basic care of the body). I have a fairly refined manual -give me the audacity- of the beauty tricks that really work for me to have beautiful skin. I've all learned them from someone-I mean dermatologists, makeup artists, facialists or celebs-and I repeat them all methodically almost every day of my life.

The trick of the towel

It all started when I read that Arabella Preston, Kate Middleton makeup artist, said that the secret to having a radiant and beautiful skin was to use a cotton towel moistened in water as the final step of facial cleansing because it cleans the skin in depth and exerts a very light exfoliation. The trick in question was confirmed by Leticia C. Carrera, director of the Happiness Career Center, but with 3 notes that I strictly follow: the towel must be made of cotton; the water has to be warm (if it is too hot it dilates the walls of the capillaries) and the towel must be washed after each use in the cotton program of the washing machine.

The cleansing milk is thus removed

In one of my visits to Carmen Navarro, I discovered the reason for the bad moment that was going through my skin: I was using micellar water. I do not mean that micellar water is not a good idea, but in the case of having a sensitive and dehydrated skin like mine, it can drag the fat of the skin itself. That's why they advised me something that, in my case, was a saint's hand: removing my skin with cleansing milk. Since I was frightened by the idea that using this cosmetic could bring fat to my skin, Carmen told me to remove the milk with a moistened cotton towel, always finishing the ritual with a tonic.

Apply the cream with a small massage

I must admit that I do not do it in the morning (due to lack of time) but at night I comply with this trick and I notice the difference at the same time because the skin absorbs the cream and is slightly illuminated and uniformed. Tom Pechux, who always does it to the models before putting them on, was right when he said: "I like to do it because it calms the skin, softens the lines of expression and recovers the luminosity when you are tired." Although it can be done in many ways, I have simplified the technique and I do it with the ascending and soft movements from the center of the face and towards the outside that Ana Puelles Lostao recommended. "These movements, in addition, favor the luminosity of the skin due to the collateral effect of tissue oxygenation," said the expert.

Make-up with coconut oil once a week

When you are a beauty editor, coconut oil has to enter at some point in your life. At the end of the day, there are so many celebs that praise his kindness, that you end up experimenting with him at some time. I've been slow to do it-I've personally tried it for the first time a few months ago when a friend brought me from Punta Cana coconut oil and organic pineapple- and now I understand everything. I like to do like Emma Stone and I use it to remove makeup from my skin. I do not use it every day, but at least once a week I smear the skin well with it and remove it with warm water.

Blessed cold

Always, always, always, before I put on makeup, I invoke Paul Newman, Kate Moss and Vanessa Paradis -they did it- and I put an ice cube on my skin, careful not to make it red. Dermatologists confirm that cold stimulates the blood microcirculation of the skin and that implies a more luminous skin, more toned and smoothed pore. Other times, I also love putting into practice the trick that an experienced beauty journalist gave me: get up, put on a gel mask previously cooled in the fridge and go back to bed until the mask heats up. But of course, taking this trick to practice is not always easy (not easy).

Yes clay masks, peel-off masks and aggressive exfoliants do not
This reflection arises from two statements: the one made me by the pharmacist Pedro Catalá, creator of the Twelve Beauty brand, who insisted on the importance of replacing a weekly exfoliation with purifying clay masks. "

Exfoliation can be an aggression to the skin. On the other hand, clay masks have a slightly exfoliating action, "said the expert, and also arises from the claim made by a dermatologist when we talked about peel-off cleaning masks that can be aggressive to the skin (if the skin hurts when you remove them). "These masks only remove the most superficial layer so that the pores will quickly fill with keratin and the black dots will reappear," he said.

Do not manipulate granites
This may be obvious, but as much as I have heard that granites should not be touched, I have often succumbed to temptation thinking it was the best option because the granite in question was at its peak. And yes, I ended up regretting later because of the degree of inflammation and redness that I have reached. For that reason and because the dermatologist Lidia Maroñas stressed to me that touching any granite "causes inflammation and unwanted scars", I have learned not to touch them and to limit myself to using a drying product in the area. My favourites? Spots Filmogel by Urgo and Tulsi Spot Remedy by Aster / Bay.

The treatment that works is what celebrities do before a red carpet

I tend to be reluctant to facials that include machinery, simply because I have an extremely sensitive skin, but after trying radiofrequency I understood why it is the treatment that celebs do before a red carpet (in fact, I confirms Carmen Montalbán who is usually chosen by actresses like Blanca Suárez before a big event). And, as long as they do good hands, the result on the skin is immediate and improves with the days.Sleep one more hour.I think that practically all the models and actresses I have interviewed have finished their list of beauty tricks saying that the best beauty trick is "be happy and sleep well". It may be too obvious, but I have absolutely proven that when I sleep one more hour - instead of the 6 little ones that I sleep on a daily basis I mean to sleep the 7 minimum recommended - my skin is much better (and my mood, too) . Is not sleeping the best cream in the world?
